The PAL Scheme

Aims of the Scheme

NICSSA has teamed up with Queen's University Belfast to offer Civil Servants the chance to take part in an exciting health promotion scheme. This is the first scheme of its kind!

Using the latest technology, we want to investigate the best way of encouraging you to be more physically active, helping you to lead a healthier lifestyle at work, rest and play.

Sensors will be placed around Stormont Estate to help you keep track of the number of minutes of activity that you undertake and the amount of calories that you have burned.

The Participant Information Sheet will give you all the details of the scheme and what you need to do in order to be part of this exciting initiative. It is important that you read this information sheet.

Benefits of an active lifestyle

It has been well proven that there is great potential to improve health, and reduce obesity and the risk of serious conditions such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease by taking some form of physical activity everyday. Click on our Benefits of Physical Activity section for many more reasons how regular physical activity can benefit your health and wellbeing.
